July 4th weekend at Cove Palisades State Park

We hated to leave Sutter Lake, but all the sites were reserved for the 4th and we had made reservations sight unseen at Palisades Cove nearby...well not so near by. It was out of the hills and down on the plain in an area that looked a whole lot like Southern California. It was a man made dam, known for its outrageously large boats and wild parties. Fortunately, we were on the hillside campground and things were much quieter.
