5/08/08 Garden of the Gods

Garden of the Gods with Pikes Peak in the background. Sand on the shore an ancient sea caused by the erosion of the ancestral rocky mountains is compressed into sandstone. Thrust up as the current Rocky Mountains began to form, they are hidden under layers and layers of earth until the current Rocky Mountains begins to erode and exposes them. All that for my enjoyment of a wonder of nature just a few minutes from my folks' home.
