Tues 6/17 Glacier National Park
Hot weather, smoke from fires, and crowds put a damper on our plans. It was too hot to leave Sadie anywhere and she can't go many places in the park. We did some "drive-by" tourism and popped out the rv for a few minutes to shoot pictures on the western side. We decided to drive around to the eastern side where it might be cooler. Forecast tomorrow -- 98 degrees. Our $41 KOA campsite is in a pasture! Aside from the frustrations, many of the views are spectacular. We had to drive about 30 miles out of our way because we were two feet too long for a small section of winding road along the eastern side. It gave us the opportunity to approach the park from the high plains of Montana and it was quite the site to see the mountains rising up out of the plains.
