May 27 - On our way to Rocky Mtn Natl Park

We are working our way towards Rocky Mountain National Park along Highway 7. We had run into a couple of pretty good thunderstorms outside of Boulder (Elaine Holder compares SLO to Boulder in the early 1950's), but the sky cleared as we neared Estes Park.


Our day started with a little commotion. Near the Air Force Academy on I-25, traffic came to a halt. We finally remembered that today was commencement and the speaker was Vice-President Joe Biden-- as seen zooming down the road with full escort. Looked kind of neat to see the US flags on the cars as they raced along.
