May 28 - Aspenglen to Elk and Sheep Lakes
We spent our first night in a small campground, Aspenglen, next to a beautiful roaring river. The view from our dining window was so perfect, Chuck claimed that Disney had built it.
Alexa is on the look out for elk and we found them lazing about in Sheep Lakes meadow. They seemed quite bored with the attention, but when two started walking our way, we decided it was time to leave. About 100 yards up the road we came across either a high country matador, or a crossing guard for big horn sheep -- it turns out he was a crossing guard. The sheep just sauntered across the road when they pleased and the park service had posted this guy for this duty.
Our destination for the day was Moraine park, created by one of the many glaciers that carved the park.
