Aug 13 - 15 Up in the canyon behind Brookings

Even though we were early at Harris State Park, all the campsites had been reserved for months and there were no cancellations. Another state park, Alfred A. Loeb, was recommended and we had few options for the weekend coming up. We had to go up a canyon, away from the coast and into the heat. But we ended up in a quite charming place. It was filled with Myrtlewood and close by was the northern most stand of coastal redwoods. A river, just behind the campground, was quite popular with locals. They drove their cars/trucks onto the rocky sandbars and drove up the river looking for swimming holes. There was a WWII US Marine get together in the day use parking lot and fun was had by all.

We decided that this would be a good time to get caught up on the blog material, change a filter, and give the rv the once over.
