Aug 6 - 8 Cape Disappointment Wasn't

We have not been making reservations so that we can take advantage of the whims (weather or whatever) of the moment. This is very dangerous during summer weekends when everyone is going to their favorite campground which they put in reservations for six months ago. Fort Camby on Cape Disappointment is one of those very popular places. While there were no campsites, we were allowed to camp on the grass near the entrance the first night, and the second night a cancellation gave us a nice spot near the beach.


Sadie is fascinated with the history of Cape Disappointment, the Long Beach peninsula, the artifacts in "Mark's Famous Museum" of junk, and a great bakery where we get a locally famous haystack.
