June 18, 2008 - Mt. Shasta to the Oregon Dunes

This is the archived trip pictures from the 2008 trip to Oregon. We left San Luis on June 16 and spent the night in the Delta. The next night was in Lake Siskiyou near Mount Shasta. After that we had almost no internet connections in state and forest service campgrounds. As a result, we couldn't keep a daily record of our trip. (We did get the first two days in and they are at the end of the now chronological report of our trip).



We left Lake Siskyiou and traveled up Hwy 5 to 138 and then 38 west to the coast. Ate recommended pie in Reedsport and ended up at a beautiful Forest Service Camp in the Waxmyrtle section of the Oregon Dunes. This Forest Service campground was paved and really first class. This was just a preview of what wonderful campgrounds Oregon has.


The weather was beautiful on our first day in Oregon. Alexa's cold is still hanging on but she is feeling much better.
